Pop Up in Jersey City

Pop-UP Art is an arts organization seeking to break the boundaries of the traditional art setting, by showcasing art events in non-profit, underused and site-specific locations throughout the NY Tri-State Area.

Beth Ann and Michelle who founded the organization, invited us to come make some art for the community of Jersey City at their Adopt A Lot festival; an event promoting their local Community Gardening Program. There were plenty of related workshops as well as local food and beer vendors, musicians and of course the visual artists!

Community enrichment is something that informs our practice as artists. Pop Up and 4th Street arts both promote that so we were psyched to come together with them and do something for a growing community. Jenevieve painted collaboratively with Then One, Mr. Mustart and Lugo. On repurposed wood panels which will be displayed throughout Jersey City over the next few months.
